A BRILLIANT IDEA
One of the main goals of our sustainability strategy, Parlak Bi' Fikir, our intrapreneurship program, aims to foster 21st century competencies such as resilience and agility. By championing innovative and inspiring ideas in the entrepreneurial ecosystem we have created, we are able to create a work environment that drives collective effort and transformation. We pave the way for our colleagues to bring to the table their original and creative ideas addressing the strategic focus areas. WEWALK
The WeWalk project, known as smart cane, is one of the technology- and innovation-based projects we support with our equitable, inclusive, and human-centric approach, and it aims to develop technologies for the equal and full participation of the visually impaired in social life.
The smart cane, which was developed by Vestel and WeWalk engineers and which is one of Vestel Ventures' initiatives,:
- was recognized as an exemplary project by the United Nations in 2017.
- attracted great attention in every fair where it was exhibited and won the "Gold Award" in the "Health and Wellness” category of the Edison Awards dedicated to Thomas Edison.
- TIME, the world's most popular magazine, named it one of the best inventions of 2019.
- O ranked in the top five at the Amazon Launchpad Innovation Awards and was then voted as the best startup of the year by public in 2021.

Concerned with the fact that petroleum-based plastics take more than 450 years to biodegrade and cause carbon emissions, Biolive, a startup by Vestel Venturesproduces completely natural bioplastic granules made from olive waste.
INNOVATION OFFICE
Area 1, a social innovation office aiming to develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem, increase work efficiency and provide networking opportunities by bringing together different groups, makes it possible to create an open synergy space where ideas can be exchanged with different start-up owners who foster free thinking.
