In a ceremony held in London in October 16th, Zorlu Center and Zorlu Konak Residence projects have received the prizes they won in the Europe and Africa Property Awards 2009 organized within the scope of the International Property Awards. Zorlu Center has been nominated for the International Property Awards, which is a higher stage of the competition.
 Zorlu Gayrimenkul’s Zorlu Center project in Zincirlikuyu, Istanbul and Zorlu Konak Residence project in Pasaport, Izmir have been awarded one international prize each and Zorlu Center has been nominated for the Commercial Architecture Award category of the International Property Awards, which is the second stage of the competition, as the winner of Europe and Africa. World’s Best will be determined in November 12th in San Diego, USA, among the winners of ‘Europe and Africa’, ‘Asia Pacific’, ‘UK’, ‘America’ and ‘Arabia’ regions.
Zorlu Center won winning prize in the Commercial Architecture Award category of the Europe and Africa Property Awards 2009, one of the most prestigious architecture awards of the world. Zorlu Konak Residence was also a winner in the Residential Best Architecture category. The awards of the competition with more than 4 thousand project from 97 countries have been given in a ceremony held in London in October 16th. Zorlu Gayrimenkul’s awards have been presented by Helen Shield, Editor in Chief of the International Homes Magazine and by a jury member, Thijs Stoffer, CEO of ICREA, International Consortium of Real Estate Associations.
Zorlu Center, an international center of attraction
 Zorlu Center is Turkey’s first and only “mixed use” project with 5 functions and realized by the Joint Initiative Group of Tabanlýoðlu Mimarlýk - Emre Arolat Mimarlýk Ltd. Þti. The project extends over a construction area of 619.595 m² including culture and art center, hotel, business center, shopping center and residences.
 With Zorlu Center, Zorlu Gayrimenkul aims to present “a new city square” to Ýstanbul. Zorlu Center has been created based on the squares from the past to present including those which are the symbol of Istanbul and those which are famous in various cities of the world. The Center is shaped by the modern understanding of architecture and acts as a bridge at the point where the continents of Asia and Europe join.
The culture and art center of Zorlu Center is a giant master piece, being constructed over an area of about 30 thousand sqm and with a capacity of 3500 people. There are also a 5-star international hotel to add prestige and tourism value to Istanbul and a shopping center including world famous brands either already existing in the Turkish market or those that are newcomers.
Tower Residence apartments and Garden Residence apartments with own garden with a beautiful view offer the privilege of both being at the heart of the city and feeling as if the city is far away. The offices that are planned as integrated parts of the overall project are positioned horizontally on a single floor rather than gathering in a tall tower.
Zorlu Center is located in the most beautiful spot of the Bosphorus and is a candidate for being an international center of attraction with both its position and its green recreational areas and gardens of 80 thousand sqm.
Zorlu Center project had been entitled to the Master Planning award, a jury special award in the 2008 Cityscape Dubai Architectural Awards competition.
